👨🏫 AI masterclass for EU staff in Sarajevo
If you disregard the earthquake, it was a good visit to Sarajevo.
I was there to train communication staff within the EEAS, the EU's diplomatic arm. They received both a talk on what's happening now with generative AI, how it unleashes human creativity, and practical exercises on how they can use ChatGPT.
Among other things, I showed how ChatGPT can be used to write texts in a variety of ways.
We used a description of the EEAS as a starting point and let ChatGPT, among other things, transform it into a limerick:
There once was a service called EEAS,
Promoting peace and ease, if you please.
Since twenty-eleven,
They've worked to make heaven,
For Europeans, across all the seas.
Not too shabby!
Sarajevo is filled with museums about the war in former Yugoslavia, the genocide in Srebrenica, human rights violations, and dictator Tito. It's not a fun history. Now, the city (the little I managed to see) seemed reasonably prosperous.
The day before I arrived, the EU announced that it is now starting membership negotiations. An EU membership could really help lift the country.
Regarding the earthquake, it was 5.4 on the Richter scale and felt quite strong, but it seems no one was injured.
